"Post-operative Breast
Radiotherapy no
benefit!"
Postoperative Breast Radiotherapy in Question.
No benefit in having
prophylactic Radiotherapy following operation in low risk breast
cancer (The Breast Dec 2009).
This report shows that
prophylactic radiotherapy in low risk breast cancer does nothing to
prevent or reduce local recurrence or spread, and does not improve
longevity.
However, the patient is still
exposed to all the toxic effects of the
radiotherapy.
These include the acute toxic
effects of radiation exposure, lung and heart damage, long term
dementia and cancer.
Dr Gruba also believes that
radiotherapy places the patient’s loved ones at risk.
Radioactive isotopes used in radio-scans, do stay in the body for
very definite periods of time. Much longer than the so-
called half life of the isotope. The isotope has to be
eliminated, usually into the urine, which then winds up in Port
Phillip Bay.
All for no benefit at
all.
